“From a sketch on paper, trough hand-made mockups to a finished industrial product, it is a chain of problems and solutions that I find fascinating. I try to make my design simple and functional, yet play with forms. Also I aim at a balanced appearance where none of the details predominates. The goal in my work is understand the design process as a whole and learn to control it.”

Ari Kanerva is young Finnish designer living in city of Helsinki. He studied design at the Kymenlaakso Polytechnic (BA) and is currently finishing his Masters of Arts degree in Spatial and Furniture design at the University of Art and Design Helsinki.
He has been participating exhibitions both finnish and international fairs.
