Strong yet lightweight cardboard tubes as we used in this project are a common part of the everyday-waste on construction sites and fairgrounds.Construction materials such as roofing fabrics or carpetfloors are usually rolled upon those tubes to prevent the product from beeing damaged or buckled.The obvious and very nice side-effect for the cardboard tube is, that it`s practically “new“ when it becomes waste - always having been well protectedby the materials rolled around it.

ATLAS combines those cardboard trestles with a table top in white marble, mutually enhancing the qualities of each material. That does not result in antagonism or irony - but in irritating and surprising beauty...
