Mr Buongiorno was developed during a project at Domus Academy Milan, dealing with the subject of surprise“. What surprises us are often things in our daily lives that are not quite how we expected them to be, things troubeling our preconceived notions. The aim was to interpret - with a wink - the philosophy of human life into a mundane object and thereby associating it with a character, all while it is preserving it’s original identity and function.
Mr Buorgiorno is a floor lamp that uses just the most basic elements of an archetype lamp. With a slight joyful twist it creates a full functioning yet uniquely “living“ object which manages to surprise by simply changing our view and sensations while looking at it. Mr Buongiorno was developed by Cecilia Lundgren, Julia Bühler and Marten Helwig.
26 year old Cecilia Lundgren received her BA at Kalmar Design University, Sweden and her Master from the Domus Academy in Milan, Italy in 2007. She is today located and working in Helsingborg, Sweden from her own studio.
