Vika is a coffee table inspired by the Japanese paper folding art origami, hence the name Vika means fold in Swedish. Even though the table’s shape is very complex, it actually is formed by a folded rectangle with one cut in each corner. The intention has been to create an interesting and exciting shape far from the starting point of the rectangle. Vika is made of white lacquered aluminium representing the in the art of origami originally used thin and fragile paper. Vika offers two table surfaces in different heights with a magazine wrack in between. 26 year old Cecilia Lundgren received her BA at Kalmar Design University, Sweden, and her Master from the Domus Academy in Milan, Italy in 2007. She is today located and working in Helsingborg, Sweden from her own studio.
